In Burgh-Haamstede, you don’t have to get bored for a moment. Schouwen-Duiveland has a lot to offer in terms of art, culture, sights and activities. In the immediate vicinity are many museums and galleries. In addition, there are many recreational opportunities including mountain biking, horseback riding, golf, miniature golf, a climbing forest and of course there are various water sports. Delta park Neeltje Jans
The Delta Works were built in 1953 to prevent a repeat of the flood disaster of 1953. The Netherlands is for the most part below sea level. At Neeltje Jans you will gain knowledge from the flood disaster to the construction of the Delta Works.
Floating above Schouwen
To take a look at Burgh-Haamstede from above you can go to Vliegclub Haamstede. The home field of this flying club is at Haamstede Airport and on clear days you can see everything from Rotterdam to Antwerp.
Climbing forest Zeeuwse Helden
Klimbos Zeeuwse Helden has six different climbing courses for young and old. The courses contain more than 90 obstacles, 12 cable cars and the height varies from 2 to 10 meters high. It is a fun, active experience for families.
Westerschouwen Forestry
Boswachterij Westerschouwen is the largest forest area in Zeeland. The forest is perfect for walks through dune landscape, dune lakes and dense valleys. Relax with the murmuring sea in the background.
Plompe Toren
The Plompe Toren is an old church tower located on the Oosterschelde. It is located about 4 kilometres south of Burgh-Haamstede. The tower is 23 meters high and is the only remnant of a village that has ever been there, called Koudekerke.
Golf farm Molenberg
In addition to a clubhouse for golf club members, Golfboerderij Molenberg is also a lunchroom and a cosy cafe for in the afternoon. For the children there is an adjacent playground so there is something for everyone.
